Oliver Tam Scales-Copeland, a native of Sydney now residing in Orange, Australia, is a seasoned freelance musician known for his versatile approach to music, spanning genres like rock, metal, and funk. Currently, he is immersed in producing a progressive metal album, which he is unveiling through a unique phased release, sharing one track weekly.

His diverse musical compositions are featured on his YouTube channel, @oliverscope, showcasing his broad musical expertise and continuous evolution as an artist. Music has been a central theme in his life from a very early age, characterized by his sharp sense of pitch and rhythm, an impressive memory for musical styles, and a deep emotional resonance with music. Oliver began his musical journey at four, learning to play the guitar and later mastering various instruments, including acoustic, electric, and bass guitars and drums, and enhancing his skills as a vocalist.

As a young musician, Oliver was part of the prestigious Sydney Region Band, now known as the Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds ensemble. This ensemble, featuring over 100 talented musicians from across Sydney, has performed at major venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall, providing Oliver with significant early exposure to large-scale performances.

Oliver achieved notable academic success in music, consistently topping his class in high school and captivating audiences with performances at major venues like the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Region Band and at the Metro Theatre with the band Aurox, which brought a fresh perspective to the rock scene.

Oliver now devotes his time to his home studio in Orange, which focuses on recording original compositions. He plans to expand his career by opening a commercial music studio to offer audio engineering and production services and continue his work as a session musician.

His educational pursuits include studying at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney. He is enhancing his business skills at TAFE NSW, pursuing a Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business, which aligns with his entrepreneurial aspirations in the music industry.

Beyond his professional life, Oliver enjoys a variety of activities, including art, weightlifting, martial arts, yoga, and chess. These pursuits not only support his physical and mental well-being but also bring balance to his life and enhance his musical creativity. His martial arts training has earned him several awards, reflecting his discipline and dedication.
